5-Minute Air Fryer Salmon (Literally the Easiest Thing Ever)

Okay, listen— I used to be SO intimidated by cooking salmon. Like, what if it’s dry? What if it’s raw? What if Mia takes one look and declares it “yucky fish”?

But then I discovered air fryer salmon and literally everything changed. We’re talking FIVE MINUTES, people. Three ingredients. And it comes out perfect every single time (I’m not even kidding).

Made this last night after a particularly chaotic day involving finger paints and a very dramatic meltdown over goldfish crackers. Had dinner on the table before Mia even finished washing her hands. MAGIC.

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each, skin on or off - whatever’s on sale!)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F while you prep (literally takes 2 minutes). Pat the salmon dry with paper towels - this is KEY for crispy edges!

  2. Brush both sides with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper. Don’t be shy with the seasoning - salmon can handle it.

  3. Place salmon in the air fryer basket skin-side down if you have skin (gives you that crispy bottom). Cook for 5 minutes. That’s IT. No flipping needed!

  4. Check for doneness - it should flake easily with a fork. If you like it more well-done, add another minute or two.

Tips

Oh! Before I forget— thickness matters here. Super thick fillets might need an extra minute or two. And if you’re feeling fancy (which let’s be honest, on a Tuesday night we’re usually not), try everything bagel seasoning instead of salt and pepper. Game changer.

Leftovers are amazing flaked over salad or mixed into pasta the next day. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
